Dear family,
This weekend we’re making a turn. We’ve spent our time lamenting. We’re spent our time repenting. We’ve spent our time hiding in the refuge and the safety. And we will continue to do all of those things as we follow after Christ. But this weekend we’re making a turn.
The sun is rising and a new day is dawning.
It's time for God's people to rise up from the ashes. It's time to rise up from the ashes of shame and to rise up in the glory of Christ. It's time to leave behind the burden of guilt and rise up in the freedom of sins forgiven. It's time to rise up and leave behind sheepish ways and then to live as lions, more than conquerors in Christ. It's time for us to rise up and step into the lives and into the callings which our God has given us. It's time for us to rise up from the ashes and step into the new day of grace that our God is giving us.
This weekend we will be looking at shame and we will see how God covers shame with glory. We’ll be looking at Genesis 3:7-8 and 3:21. Watch what God does there!
We will have both in-person and streamed worship options this weekend. In-person services will take place on Saturday at 5:30 pm and Sunday at 9:30 am. We will re-broadcast the Saturday service on Sunday morning at 9:30 am. Click below for more information about our Weekend Worship.
Ministry Update
You can find our weekly ministry update linked below. Pay special attention to the “Mark your Calendar” dates and information.
This year there will not be a face-to-face Lutheran Women's Missionary Society (LWMS) convention or a WELS Missions event called Taste of Missions. Instead LWMS and WELS Missions have combined efforts to produce an online mission event called Taste and See.
Everyone is invited and it is free! The opening worship service kicks off the two-week period of daily events on June 27, 2020, at 11 a.m. and is followed by the flag presentation at noon.
Join your fellow Mt. Lebanon members to watch the service and flag presentation together (it's called a watch party) at the church. We’ll begin gathering at 10:45 am on Saturday (6/27). If you don't feel comfortable being in a larger group of people, please watch it individually or invite a friend or two to join you. Explore how the Holy Spirit is blessing the work done through WELS home and world missions by reading all about the event as posted in this WELS Missions Blog.
