Ministry Update

Last Sunday we talked about shame. It is something that fills so many different corners of our lives. We feel shame because of sin. We feel shame and a certain stigma because of frailties that we have, e.g. mental illness. We might even feel shame because of things that happened to us. There is but one solution to our shame, no matter its source. It is the glory that our God gives us in and from Christ. It is the clothing with which our God clothes us. Listen in to last week’s sermon where we saw how God covered up our shame with the glory of Christ.

This weekend we will talk about guilt, the debt that we owe God and other people because of the sin which we have committed. Like shame, guilt can have a powerful impact on our lives especially if we try to pay the debt for sin ourselves, especially if we listen to the lying voice of the Devil when he continues to accuse us of sins already forgiven. This Sunday, we’ll be looking at Revelation 12:10-12. There we see the one who accuses us thrown down by the one came down from heaven. We will leave behind the burden of our guilt in the victorious work of our Savior Christ.

Worship this Weekend

We will have TWO worship opportunities this weekend: One on Saturday at 5:30 pm and the other on Sunday at 9:30 am.

In addition, we will continue to stream our worship service on Sundays at 9:30 am.

PLEASE NOTE: We have discontinued our registration for weekend worship (but we still want you to come!). Please come and bring a friend. We are, however, keeping our current mask and social distancing practices in place. Please let us know what questions you may have.

Way to Joy

As we return to the new normal, look for the July edition of the “Way to Joy” in your mailbox. Stay tuned for further updates in the Mount Weekly later this week.

Let this little note be a heads up that July and August will be celebration months. As we get back toward a new normal, we want to take the time to celebrate God’s graces to us. We have reason for joy even in the midst of this difficult season.

People of God - it’s time for us to rise and roar because the joy of the Lord is our strength!

We are his! Pastor Nate
