The Mount Weekend Update - 4/16/2021

Happy Easter? Read the text we’ll be looking at for this weekend and you’ll know what I’m talking about. It’s maybe not a text you’ve heard a sermon on before. In fact, I’ll buy you a beer or a cup of coffee if you have heard a sermon on the WHOLE text (Acts 1:12-26). The only catch is you have to drink it with me. It’s certainly a strange one for the Easter season. It’s a strange one period. The church is reeling from the ascension of Jesus and the betrayal of Judas. The church is reeling because they're eleven, not twelve, not a complete church. Happy Easter? Now, you understand why there is a question mark there.

Yet, this text has so much to say to our church today. We had planned to preach on this text last year, but for reasons you can likely imagine, we didn’t. But this word is so appropriate for this church, our church, for this day, this season, and this crisis. God has put a word in my mouth and I can’t wait to share it with you. Pastor Nate.
