What does God ask of you?

We have a God who holds nothing back from us. Nothing at all. He did not even hold back his one and only Son. He gives us heaven as a gift. He elects us and then adopts us into his family by his own free will and choice, and not because of us in any way at all. He daily meets our needs, attends to us, and sees us deeply wherever we happen to be. He protects us and guards us against all evil. He not only enlightens us with his Spirit but also sanctifies and keeps us in the faith. I could go on, but I think you get the idea. We have a God who holds nothing back. That’s the kind of God we have.

Now, he tells you what he asks of you. Now, when you hear his answer, don’t be confused. The answer to this question is not a payment for his gifts to you; the payment for that gift was made at the cross. Your response to his kindness is no payment. He simply has a question for you. What does the God who holds nothing back from you ask of you? He simply asks you to hold nothing back from him. Your whole life has been redeemed by him so that it might now be for him. Your whole life now is now his. Be the kind of people that hold nothing back from him but rather leave all behind to follow him.

This Sunday, we’ll be taking a break from Jeremiah to look at Deuteronomy 10:12-22. Take a look and get ready to hear about it.

Last week was our last week of Connect Groups until the Spring. Starting Sunday, two new, pastor-led Bible studies will be offered.

Sundays after Worship:

Sundays, after worship, we will get to know the kings of Israel who sat on David’s throne during Jeremiah’s ministry. This is a four-week study as we really get to know Jeremiah, his ministry, the kings, and his message.

Wednesdays at 5 pm:

We want to unleash you for ministry. That’s what this whole “Congregation of Misfits” series has been all about. We want to dig into this a little more and help you think about how you might serve your God in every part of your life. To that end, we are offering our “Unleashed for Personal Ministry” study on Wednesdays, beginning on October 26. We will begin with a light potluck meal at 5 pm, study from 5:30 – 6:45 pm and end with a short service of evening prayer, to end at 7 pm. There will be four studies in this series. God-willing this will be a freeing and liberating study, unleashing people for the ministry which God has prepared for them and which God has prepared them for.
