This Sunday will be a big day for us for three, even four reasons.
It's Baptism Sunday! A number of people will be baptized into the name of Jesus this Sunday and adopted into God's family. That's reason enough for this to be a big Sunday. But that's not all!
It's DHL Sunday! This is a Sunday that happens about twice a year. We come together as a church/school ministry to celebrate the unity that we share through worship. So, wear your DHL gear, your Mount Lebanon gear, or just a black shirt so that by dressing as one, we can reflect the unity that we enjoy.
It's "the Event to be later named." You'll have the opportunity to learn about ministry opportunities at Mount Lebanon and beyond. Then, you can express interest in learning more about those things so that you can be active and involved in the kingdom work of God.
It's the start of a new series. This weekend we're starting to get into the book of Jeremiah. Over the course of the next year, we have three separate series planned out, during which we'll dig into the prophetic ministry of Jeremiah. This first series will look at Jeremiah as the model survivor; he outlasted even the walls of Jerusalem. We'll learn from him about how to live, survive and even thrive in difficult circumstances. Look for an email tomorrow with even more details.
I'll leave it there for now. I can't wait to be with you again around the throne of God, being strengthened and shaped by him, so that he might shape us for survival.
We are his!
