NEW SERIES THIS SUNDAY!

After the series of parables in Matthew chapter 13, Matthew begins to narrate for us a major emphasis in Jesus’ earthly ministry. More and more he clarifies for us, the identity of Jesus, both for his disciples’ sake and for ours. All of this reaches a high point when Jesus asks Peter, “Who do you say that I am?” and Peter answers with crystal clarity (cf. Matthew 16:15-16). God grant us the same clarity of confession and of faith as we learn of Jesus.

Who do you say that he is? He is ... We’ll learn how to answer that question with clear confidence as we continue on in the book of Matthew.

Join us for worship on Saturday at 5:30 pm OR Sunday at 9:30 am.

We will also be streaming our worship service on Sunday at 9:30 am here.

The Retirement of Staff Minister Michael Schuessler

For most of his career, Minister Mike worked in business and industry so he can relate to people in all walks of life. In 2012 he was called as Staff Minister of Outreach at Mt. Lebanon.  What he enjoyed more than anything else is the opportunity to visit with people, listen to their story and share God’s love for them in Jesus Christ.

He served God's people in so many ways and was relentless in his love for them and compassionate in his care for them. Mike shared devotions with our Food Pantry guests; he led the Monday Night Support Group; he taught Bible Information classes for prospective members; led our Men’s Ministry Team; he visited shut-ins and did just about anything else that would help people learn more about God’s plan of salvation.

He served his Lord and our congregation well. We want to thank the God who sent him to serve us and to serve with us. We also want to thank Mike for his service here as he enters retirement.

We will do this in several ways. We will formally thank him in our worship THIS Sunday, September 13 at 9:30 am. We want to invite you all to come. After the service, we are planning a presentation and a light luncheon (safe and social distance style) so that you can all greet him and share your thanks to him.

We hope you will be able to come! You are also welcome to send cards or notes of thanksgiving to the church and we will pass them on to Mike.

We hope you will be able to join us on this special day of celebration. And the greatest part is, Mike will still remain a part of our church and our ministry, just in a different capacity.

We thank the God who sends us faithful servants like Mike.

We are his!

Pastor Nate
